Congressman Flake's Letter Regarding PMA Earmarks

Mesa, Arizona, Oct 30 - Republican Congressman Jeff Flake, who represents Arizona’s Sixth District, today sent a letter to House Leadership urging them to remove all earmarks going to former clients of the PMA Group from the defense appropriations bill. The Washington Post reported today that the House Ethics Committee is undertaking a broad review of the PMA scandal.

“It defies logic that the House would move ahead with no-bid contracts to former clients of the PMA Group at the same time the Ethics Committee is investigating the PMA scandal,” said Flake.

Over the course of this year, Congressman Flake has offered eight privileged resolutions instructing the House Ethics Committee to investigate the relationship between earmarks going to clients of the PMA Group and PMA-related campaign contributions. The House of Representatives has voted to table each resolution.
